
A total of 491 businesses were created in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region during the first eight months of 2024, indicated the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).
These businesses are divided between legal entities, with a total of 171 companies, and natural persons with 320 businesses.
Guelmim leads with a total of 271 new businesses, followed by the province of Tan-Tan (154) and Sidi Ifni (66).
OMPIC notes that the commercial sector dominates with a share of 51.73% of the total businesses created, followed by services with 12.80%, construction and real estate activities with 12.80%, transport (6.92%), industry (5.71%), hotels and restaurants (5.02%), agriculture and fishing (2.42%), the information and communication technology sector (1.38%), and financial activities (1.21%).
Regarding legal form, 63.2% of the entities created are limited liability companies with a single partner, followed by limited liability companies (35.7%), general partnerships (0.6%), and public limited companies (0.6%).
At the national level, the number of businesses created during the first eight months of this year reached 61,178, divided between legal entities (44,261) and natural persons (16,917).
The Casablanca-Settat region leads with a total of 19,361 businesses created by the end of August 2024, followed by Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (8,741), Marrakech-Safi (7,124), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (7,035), Fès-Meknès (4,232), Souss-Massa (4,099), the Oriental (3,578), Laâyoune - Sakia El Hamra (2,376), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (1,801), Draa-Tafilalet (1,375), Dakhla - Oued Eddahab (965), and Guelmim-Oued Noun (491).
