Taounate: More than 1,000 beneficiaries of a multidisciplinary medical caravan

More than 1000 people from the commune of Oudka, in the province of Taounate, benefited from the services of a multidisciplinary medical caravan organized recently by the Moroccan Association for the Fight against Obesity, the "Al Amal" Association for the Family and Child of Fez, and the "Chams" Association for Education and Development of Fez.

This initiative, organized in collaboration with the provincial authorities and in partnership with the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Taounate, as well as the Provincial Association for Support to Patients with Kidney Failure, was supported by the regional directorate of health and social protection of Fez-Meknes.
The services of this caravan included specialized medical consultations in gynaecology-obstetrics, general medicine, and ophthalmology.
In this regard, 289 specialized consultations, 174 general medicine consultations, 254 biological analyses, and 22 electrocardiograms were performed.
In addition, 23 ultrasounds, 80 refraction measurements, 132 blood pressure measurements, and 50 breast cancer screenings were carried out.
This caravan is part of the solidarity efforts aimed at strengthening access to health services in mountainous and remote areas. According to the organizers, it reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between associative actors and local health institutions. The initiative aims to bring different medical services closer to rural populations, particularly vulnerable groups, and to relieve their suffering.
It also aims to contribute to the improvement of health provision in the region, by providing free and quality medical services to local inhabitants, particularly the most fragile categories (children, women, and the elderly).
