Heavy rain, hail, and snowfall expected until Thursday in several cities in Morocco (DGM)

In an update to its orange alert bulletin, the DGM specified that heavy rain (between 40 and 70 mm), sometimes stormy, with wind gusts and hail, are expected from today, Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. until tomorrow, Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in the following provinces: Tanger-Assilah, Fahs-Anjra, Tétouan, Larache, Ouazzane, Chefchaouen, Temara-Skhirat, Salé, Rabat, Sidi Kacem, Kénitra, Berrechid, Sidi Bennour, Casablanca, Benslimane, Mohammedia, Nouacer, El Jadida, Médiouna and Safi.



The Directorate also indicated that cold weather is expected, with temperatures varying between -3 and 3 degrees, from today until tomorrow in the regions of Azilal, Béni Mellal, Al Haouz, Midelt, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Boulemane and Ifrane.

The DGM forecasts report "rainy weather due to the persistence of the depression over our country, with the arrival of dense clouds accompanied by rain or stormy showers, sometimes locally heavy in the regions of the western Rif, Doukkala and northern Abda".

For Thursday, October 31, rainy weather will persist with locally stormy showers in the regions of Tangier, Loukkos, the northwest, the western Mediterranean and the western Rif. Light rain or scattered showers are expected on the Atlantic coasts north of El Jadida. The weather will be cold with frost in the Atlas regions.

Regarding the meteorological situation from October 28 to October 29 at 6:00 a.m., Maroc Météo indicated that certain regions of Morocco experienced snowfall between October 28 at 6:00 a.m. and October 29 at 6:00 a.m., particularly in the regions of the High and Middle Atlas. In the commune of Anergui, located in the province of Azilal, snowfall reached 20 cm at the foot of the mountains and 30 cm at the summit, while in Zaouiat Ahansal, it reached 0.2 cm at the foot and 35 cm at the summit.

In the province of Béni Mellal, snow reached 30.5 cm at the foot of the mountains and 35.3 cm at the summit in the region of Aghbala. The province of Ifrane also recorded notable snowfall in Timahdite, Michlifen and Jbel Hayane, with accumulations varying between 4 and 13 cm. In the province of Taza, snowfall reached 8 cm at the foot of the mountains and 12 cm at the summit in Bouyeblane. Finally, the Imilchil region, in the province of Midelt, recorded 13 cm of snow, while 7 cm were measured in Tounfite.
