Data from the Economic Affairs and Coordination Division of the Tetouan province reported that the joint local provincial committees, tasked with monitoring prices and the quality of consumer goods, inspected 239 establishments between the 1st and 20th of the blessed Ramadan, following which 517.15 kilograms of food materials unfit for consumption were seized and destroyed, 3 establishments were closed, and 14 warnings were issued..

 In the same context, the same data highlighted that during these field visits, 17 samples of meals and food offered to consumers were taken by representatives of the Health and Social Protection Delegation, in order to subject them to the necessary laboratory analyses.

The services of the Economic Affairs and Coordination Division of the Tetouan province activated the national number 5757 throughout the days of the week, dedicated to receiving and processing complaints and observations from citizens and residents in the Tetouan province related to market supply and quality and health safety, where the mentioned services received 43 complaints until yesterday, Saturday, following which interventions were scheduled for the mentioned services to follow up on complaints that require subsequent processing.

The field visits of the joint committees, which were scheduled in implementation of the instructions of the Tetouan province, included inspecting and monitoring various wholesale and retail points of sale, shops for preparing and selling pastries, savory snacks, sweets, and bakeries in the urban center, as well as weekly markets and shops located in the centers of territorial communes in the rural area, according to a tight program.

The work of the committees focused on monitoring storage conditions, places for displaying goods and products, places of preparation and processing, and the extent of their compliance with health and safety conditions, as well as the validity of the materials used and the provision of health cards for employees.

It is noteworthy that these joint committees consisted of representatives of local authorities, national security, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Economic Affairs and Coordination Division of the Tetouan province, the Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection, the Health Protection Service of the Tetouan commune, the Provincial Delegation of Trade and Industry, and representatives of the National Office for Food Safety (from MAP) materials unfit for consumption
