During this meeting, which was the second for 2024 and chaired by the Governor of Tan-Tan Province, Abdellah Chater, the implementation of a set of projects and activities programmed within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development for the year 2024 was monitored.
This concerns 24 projects distributed across the program to bridge the deficit in infrastructure and basic services in less-equipped territorial areas, the program to support people in vulnerable situations, and the program to boost human capital for future generations.
In this context, the Head of the Social Action Division at the Tan-Tan Province Prefecture, Mustapha Lirat, presented a report reviewing these 24 projects, including 8 projects within the framework of the program to bridge the deficit in infrastructure and basic services in less-equipped territorial areas, with a financial envelope estimated at 1,837,712 dirhams.
These projects include, in particular, the construction of a water tank and equipping a well with a pump and solar panels in the areas of Issil, Tanomli, Khnik Ali, and Jrifiya, the rehabilitation and maintenance of a well in Tarmast, the development of a water tank and equipping a well with a water pump and solar panels in the Tarmast area, the acquisition of three plastic water tanks with a capacity of 4.6 cubic meters in the Telmizoun commune, and the acquisition of 6 plastic water tanks with a capacity of 4.6 cubic meters in the Msied commune.
As for the projects of the program to support people in vulnerable situations, which have a total cost of 1,062,000 dirhams, they concern 8 projects, including 6 projects to equip social centers (equipping the Tan-Tan Red Women's Club, equipping the multi-functional space for women in the new district, equipping the local social center in both Oued Ben Khalil district and Sheikh Mohamed Al-Aghdaf district, equipping the women's club in El Ouatia, equipping the local social center in El Ouatia), one project concerning the support and management of the Lalla Amina Center for Child Protection, and another project concerning vision screening and the acquisition of medical glasses for children with disabilities in school.
Regarding the program to boost human capital for future generations, there are 8 projects distributed across two axes: the maternal and child health axis (680,000 dirhams), which includes, in particular, the acquisition of biomedical devices and equipment for gynecology for the benefit of Hassan II Hospital, the acquisition and installation of a cold storage room at the Hassan II Provincial Hospital, and the rehabilitation of the sterilization room in the surgical complex of the maternity ward at the Hassan II Provincial Hospital.
As for the schooling support axis (693,000 dirhams), it includes the acquisition of equipment for the Lalla Meryem Nursery and Preschool Center in Tan-Tan, the acquisition of equipment for the El Ouatia Nursery and Kindergarten Center, the organization of the regional forum for school and university information, vision screening and the acquisition of medical glasses for students, and educational support in mathematics and French.
During this meeting, the allocation and transfer of certain financial appropriations for the implementation of some projects programmed within the framework of the program to support people in vulnerable situations and the program to boost human capital for future generations were approved.
The revision of partnership agreements between the Provincial Committee for Human Development and some income-generating project holders was also approved.
Mr. Chater emphasized, in a speech on the occasion, that this meeting aims to evaluate the status of projects completed or under implementation within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development action program in Tan-Tan province for the year 2024, and to study and approve the allocation and transfer of certain financial appropriations for the implementation of some projects programmed within the framework of the program to support people in vulnerable situations and the program to boost human capital for future generations, in addition to reviewing partnership agreements with some project holders.
He pointed out that the projects programmed in the 2024 action plan are experiencing delays in implementation within the specified deadlines, mainly due to some difficulties resulting from procedural measures and technical and financial studies related to their implementation, calling on everyone to engage positively in the diligent work that the Provincial Committee for Human Development continues to do in order to contribute to achieving the development goals of this phase, and to work jointly and continuously through coordination between various partners and activating the convergence between various programs to achieve the set goals.
He also called for the need to intensify efforts to improve the interventions of the National Initiative for Human Development workshop through effective partnership with all stakeholders and adapting them according to the directions and workshops that have been launched at the national level in recent years, and to pay special attention to the social aspect by supporting vulnerable and needy groups and the socio-economic integration of young people and women in difficult situations.
