Ifrane – All competent provincial services have been mobilised in order to restore traffic on road axes momentarily disrupted by snowfall that occurred during the night from Sunday to Monday in the Ifrane province, indicated the provincial director of the Ministry of Equipment and Water, Abdelilah Azmi.
In a statement to the MAP, Mr. Azmi affirmed that all provincial services were mobilised under the effective supervision of the Governor of the Ifrane Province following moderate snowfall that caused traffic disruptions on the province's strategic road axes.
Momentary traffic disruptions were recorded, notably at the level of national road n°13 connecting Azrou, Timahdite, and Ait Oufella, the provincial official said, noting that snow clearing operations allowed the road between Azrou and Timahdite to be opened, while efforts continue between Timahdite and Ait Oufella.
National road n°08 (RN08) also experienced a half-hour traffic interruption between Azrou and Ifrane, he added, specifying that the intervention of snow clearing teams with two machines allowed the road to be cleared, which is now open to traffic, notably the exit from Ifrane towards El Hajeb.
Only the Michlifen road is still closed to traffic while awaiting the intervention of snow clearing machines, Mr. Azmi remarked.
