The Ifrane province reactivates its action plan against the effects of the cold wave
The Ifrane province has reactivated its action plan against the effects of the cold wave by expanding its intervention zone based on experiences gained during previous years.

In this context, the various services (health, civil protection, national security, Royal Gendarmerie, auxiliary forces, and equipment) have mobilized all their human and logistical resources to mitigate the effects of the cold on the populations, especially in mountainous areas.

The competent services of the Ifrane province have thus proceeded to identify the areas concerned by the cold wave. These areas, which fall under several territorial communities including Dayet Aoua, Tizguite, Ain Leuh, Sidi El Mekhfi, Oued Ifrane, Bensmim, Tigrigra, and Timahdite, consist of 49 localities totaling 4,629 households and 21,940 people, reports the MAP.

Pregnant women are also included through the monitoring of their pregnancies by health services as part of this provincial action plan to combat the cold wave.

The accommodation of the homeless (SDF) is carried out, moreover, in close collaboration with the local authority and the provincial delegation of National Mutual Aid at the socio-educational center of Azrou and the Dar Talib of Ain Leuh.

To ensure the health care of the concerned population, a medical device has been put in place, notably involving the mobilization of health structures and medical and paramedical personnel, as well as the scheduling of about twenty medical caravans.

It should be noted that as part of strengthening accessibility to care and improving medical services, a mobile medical unit under the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity has begun providing free care to the population living in mountainous areas.
