A vast sweep operation carried out by the Royal Gendarmerie services at the territorial center of Guesabi, near Guelmim, alongside the judicial center services, resulted in the arrest of 394 candidates for illegal migration, including Moroccans, migrants from sub-Saharan African countries, and Bangladeshis.
The intervention took place during two separate operations in the Chbika and Ras Oumlil communes during the early hours of this Saturday, in close coordination with the Royal Armed Forces, Auxiliary Forces, and local authorities.
At the level of the Chbika command, 140 Moroccan candidates were arrested in the "Akoujkal" area, while 171 citizens from sub-Saharan African countries were arrested in the "Oum Kherchouch" area. In parallel, 5 inflatable boats, 4 engines, 3 vehicles, and a significant quantity of gasoline were seized.
In the Ras Oumlil commune, the intervention of the Gendarmerie services, the Royal Armed Forces, the Auxiliary Forces, and local authorities resulted in the arrest of 69 candidates for illegal migration from sub-Saharan African countries, 9 Moroccans, and 5 Bangladeshis; an inflatable boat, an engine, and a quantity of gasoline were also seized in the "Ourioura" area.
The apprehended individuals were subjected to judicial investigation procedures conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor's Office to uncover all the circumstances and details of this case, while investigations and inquiries are still ongoing to arrest all participants and contributors to the organization of these operations.
