The Provincial Urban Planning Committee of Chefchaouen adopted, on Tuesday, the boundary delimitation plans for 38 Douars falling under three communes of the province, covering an area of 1,495 hectares.
Adopted during a meeting chaired by the Governor of the Chefchaouen province, Mohamed Alami Ouaddane, in the presence of the Secretary General of the province, the Director of the Urban Agency of Tetouan, and representatives of the territorial collectivities and the concerned decentralized services, these plans concern 7 Douars in the Bni Mansour commune, 17 Douars in the Bab Taza commune, and 14 Douars falling under the Derdara commune.
The number of territorial collectivities in the province covered by boundary delimitation plans thus reaches 7, with a total of 65 Douars covered so far, over a total area amounting to approximately 27% of the territory of the Chefchaouen province.
According to a statement from the Urban Agency of Tetouan, the Governor of the province recalled, during this meeting, the provisions of the joint ministerial circular of April 28, 2023, between the Ministry of National Land Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy and the Ministry of the Interior, relating to the simplification of the construction procedure in rural areas.
Mr. Alami Ouaddane also praised, on this occasion, the role of the members of the provincial urban planning committee in the operation of delimiting the boundaries of the Douars.
For her part, the Director of the Urban Agency of Tetouan, Nisrin Alami, highlighted the importance of these plans for the inhabitants of the concerned Douars and for the development of these areas, also mentioning certain specific conditions for the plans, including the minimum area necessary for construction.
The meeting, in which the regional inspector of urban planning, architecture, and land planning also took part, was marked by a detailed presentation on the concerned Douars, as well as the modifications made to the plans based on the remarks of the members of the provincial committee.
