The Regional Director of the National Agency for Water and Forests in Al Hoceima, Imad El Khadir, reported in data provided to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) that the fire was completely brought under control at 11:00 AM this Wednesday. He explained that the area affected by the fire is estimated at approximately one hectare of forest cover, consisting of oak trees and other secondary forest formations.
In the same context, intervention teams from the Regional Directorate of the National Agency for Water and Forests, Civil Protection, local authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie, and some members of the local population mobilized in a short time. They worked continuously, which enabled the fire to be brought under control quickly and prevented its spread due to wind conditions.
The intervention teams, consisting of more than 40 personnel, deployed two vehicles belonging to the National Agency for Water and Forests, a tanker truck from Civil Protection, and one vehicle each from the Royal Gendarmerie, the Auxiliary Forces, and local authorities.
Furthermore, water and forest teams continue to monitor the site to prevent the fire from reigniting, and an investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances and causes of the outbreak of this fire.
