The Choukran area in the Al Hoceima province witnessed heavy snowfall over the past few hours, which gave the area a stunning aesthetic character; however, it caused difficulties in traffic movement on regional road number 5204, connecting Targuist, Beni Ammart, and Choukran.
Immediately after recording this snowfall, the provincial authorities in the Al Hoceima prefecture rushed to mobilise all the machinery of the territorial communes and the provincial directorate of equipment and water, as the teams belonging to the latter began snow removal operations on the affected road axes.
Bulldozers and heavy equipment were deployed at various points that recorded significant snow accumulations, as part of a proactive plan overseen by the Al Hoceima provincial prefecture in coordination with various stakeholders, to ensure the continuity of traffic and break the isolation of the local population.
The local population expressed their relief at the rapid and effective intervention of the authorities, confirming that these efforts contributed significantly to mitigating the effects of the cold wave and snow that the region is witnessing, especially on the road axis connecting Targuist, Beni Ammart, and Choukran.
The teams of the provincial directorate of equipment and transport in Al Hoceima continue their interventions around the clock, in light of expectations that snowfall will continue during the coming hours. The local authorities call on citizens to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel in these exceptional climatic conditions.
This comprehensive mobilisation reflects the extent of the readiness of the various provincial services to deal with emergency conditions, and the importance of close coordination between the various stakeholders under the supervision of the governor of the Al Hoceima province, to ensure the safety of citizens and facilitate their movements during the period of snowfall.
