Thus, tourist accommodation establishments in Tangier-Assilah recorded 1,509,994 overnight stays during the first ten months of 2024, against 1,422,717 overnight stays during the same period of the previous year, an increase of 6%, specified the Observatory in its monthly statistics on the evolution of tourism, noting that the occupancy rate of these establishments stood at 54%.
For the month of October alone, EHTCs in Tangier-Assilah posted 173,394 overnight stays with an occupancy rate of 58%, up 23% year-on-year.
The destination of Tangier has been able to maintain its position as the fourth most visited tourist destination at the national level, after Marrakech (8.43 million overnight stays), Agadir (5.49 million overnight stays) and Casablanca (1.81 million overnight stays), while Fez arrived in fifth position with 793,000 overnight stays.
It should be noted that Morocco recorded 24.1 million overnight stays at the end of October 2024, up 10% compared to the same period in 2023.
