After the Al-Icha and Taraouih prayers, the closing of Sahih Al-Boukhari took place, performed by Mr. Lahcen Id Said, member of the Supreme Council of Ulema, after the reading of "Hadith Al Khatm" by Mr. Abderrazak Tourabi, member of the local Council of Ulema of Rabat.
Subsequently, verses from the Holy Quran were recited by the child Meriem Assim (12 years old, from the city of Sidi Bennour), winner of the Mohammed VI National Prize for memorisation, recitation and chanting of the Holy Quran. His Majesty the King was then greeted by the young reciter, to whom the Sovereign presented the Prize.
This distinction testifies to the High benevolence with which HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, has constantly surrounded the male and female reciters of the Holy Quran and the Sovereign's constant desire to promote the memorisation and learning of the Holy Book among the young generations.
His Majesty the King then presented the Mohammed VI "Ahl Al-Qurâan" and "Ahl Al-Hadith" Prizes respectively to Mr. Mohamed Idrissi Tahiri, from the city of Agadir, and to Mr. Mustapha Azaryah, from the city of Tétouan.
The Sovereign also presented the Mohammed VI Prize for Quranic schools, in its three categories, to Messrs. Abdeslam Khayali from Kelâa des Sraghna (Learning Methodology Prize), Abdallah Raiss from Tiznit (Performance Prize), and Mohamed Mazzouz from Tangier (Management Prize).
His Majesty the King, Commander of the Faithful, also presented the Mohammed VI Prize for the Adhan and Tahlil, in its two categories, to Messrs. Ayoub Nadi from Tangier (Excellence Prize) and Abdelkader Ben Errabeh from Oued Zem (Honorary Prize).
During this religious vigil, the audience offered prayers imploring the Almighty to preserve His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, to crown His initiatives with success, to guide His steps, to realise the aspirations that the Sovereign nurtures for the progress of His faithful people and to shower Him with blessings in the persons of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and all the members of the Illustrious Royal Family.
Prayers were also said for the repose of the souls of the late Sovereigns, the late HM King Mohammed V and the late HM King Hassan II, may God have them in His holy mercy.
This vigil took place in the presence of, among others, the Head of Government, the speakers of the two Houses of Parliament, Advisors to His Majesty the King, members of the government, representatives of the diplomatic corps of Islamic countries accredited to Morocco, senior officers of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, as well as several civilian and military personalities.
