During this cultural event organised by the Souissi District Council on the occasion of the anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto, they highlighted that this document clearly reflects the values of struggle and the close cohesion between the Throne and the people, as well as the importance of national unity in facing challenges and crises.
In a speech on the occasion, the High Commissioner for Former Resistance Fighters and Members of the Liberation Army, Mr. Mustapha El Ktiri, confirmed that the presentation of this document contains deep meanings that the younger generation draws inspiration from and turns into a beacon for the future, noting that it represented a "roadmap for the nation and a pivotal turning point between the eras of colonialism and independence."
Mr. El Ktiri highlighted that Moroccans celebrate this anniversary in loyalty and remembrance of the great heroism created by the sons of the nation with a high national spirit and deep faith, in order to get rid of the yoke of colonialism and preserve the pride and dignity of the nation.
For his part, Professor at Mohammed V University in Rabat, Abdelnabi Sabri, pointed out that the national unity and stability that Morocco enjoys today is one of the fruits of those milestones, during which the late King Mohammed V was keen to hold on to every inch of the nation's land, highlighting that the process of achieving national independence is "proof of the creativity of the Moroccan people in the methods of struggle and persuasion."
While talking about the issue of Morocco's territorial integrity, Sabri recalled the efforts of the Kingdom's diplomacy, "especially the successive recognitions that Morocco has garnered at the international level in favour of its sovereignty over its southern provinces."
In turn, the President of the Souissi District Council, Adil El Atrassi, said that this prominent milestone in the path of national struggle, which was created by the Moroccan people under the leadership of the late King Mohammed V, embodies the nobility of national consciousness and the strength of the cohesion of the Throne and the people in defence of religious sanctities and national constants in anticipation of future horizons.
On the other hand, the researcher at the Institute of African Studies at Mohammed V University in Rabat, Noureddine Belhaddad, stressed the need to include these events and epics in school curricula, and to be keen on embodying them in artistic and visual works so that they become accessible to the younger generation.
This intellectual seminar, which saw a prominent youth and female presence in addition to representatives of civil society, comes to consolidate the commendable tradition and the continuous custom of loyalty and gratitude for the sacrifices of Morocco's men, which the Rabat municipality is keen to organise every year.
