In this regard, the Council approved a draft partnership agreement with the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in Meknes and the Provincial Federation for the Management and Development of Public School Transport in the rural area of the Meknes prefecture, concerning the contribution to the management and operation of public school transport buses at the level of the Meknes prefecture, with a total budget of 500,000 dirhams.
The Council also approved a draft partnership and cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Communication - Culture Sector, to contribute to the organisation of the Volubilis International Festival of World Music with a financial budget reaching 350,000 dirhams, in addition to a draft partnership agreement with the Regional Directorate of Culture of Fez-Meknes and the Meknes Cultures Association concerning the organisation of the Aissaoua and World Music Festival.
During the proceedings of this session, a draft partnership agreement was also approved between the Meknes Prefecture Council, the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in Meknes, and the "Club Sportif Meknassi Basketball" association to support and develop this sport in the Ismaili capital with a financial budget reaching 130,000 dirhams.
The Council also approved a draft partnership agreement with the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in Meknes and the "Club Sportif Meknassi Volleyball" association to support and develop this sport, with a financial budget of 120,000 dirhams.
Approval was also given to a draft partnership agreement between the Prefecture Council, the Provincial Delegation of National Mutual Aid in Meknes, and the Association for the Support of People with Mental Disabilities and Psychiatric Patients, to support efforts to manage and operate the reception and support centre for people with mental disabilities and psychiatric patients located in the Sidi Bouzekri district in Meknes, for which an amount of 150,000 dirhams was allocated.
On the other hand, the proceedings of this session were marked by a presentation by the Provincial Directorate of Equipment in Meknes on the implementation of the project programme related to the rehabilitation of strategic road axes of the road network in the Meknes prefecture, and the status of roads in the prefecture's territory, as well as the results of the projects programmed and under construction.
The members of the Council also deliberated on the special partnership agreement between the Ministry of Interior (General Directorate of Territorial Collectivities), the Wilaya of the Fez-Meknes region, the Meknes prefecture, the Fez-Meknes Regional Council, the Meknes Prefecture Council, the Meknes Commune Council, the Toulal Commune Council, and the Al Omrane Fez-Meknes company, for the implementation of the project related to the creation of the Meknes bus station, which is part of the Fez-Meknes Regional Development Programme 2022-2027.
During the proceedings of this session, the report on the activities of the Presidency and a summary of the proceedings of the previous session were also presented.
The President of the Meknes Prefecture Council, Hicham El Kaid, confirmed in a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) agency that the agenda of the session included a number of important points, in particular a presentation by the Directorate of Equipment in Meknes on the road axes in the city as well as the roads and technical structures that are under construction or that will be programmed at a later time.
Mr. El Kaid added that this session also provided an opportunity to approve partnership agreements with a number of cultural and sports associations that play an important role, and to review the achievements made by the Council during the years 2023 and 2024.
