A medical caravan dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of monitoring and prenatal care was launched on Thursday in the Tassoultant commune, under the prefecture of Marrakech.

Initiated by the Prefectural Committee for Human Development (CPDH), in partnership with the Prefectural Delegation of Health and Social Protection of Marrakech, this medical caravan aims to promote the health and well-being of pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, as well as newborns, while facilitating access to essential medical services.

This solidarity action is also part of a proximity dynamic aimed at changing certain behaviors and ideas related to pregnancy and medical monitoring, the goal being to provide clear answers to women's questions about the different stages of prenatal and postnatal monitoring.

In a statement to the MAP on this occasion, the head of the Health Establishments Network service at the Prefectural Delegation of Health and Social Protection, Abderrahim Idmoussa, indicated that this caravan, the result of a partnership agreement bringing together various institutional and medical actors, offers various treatments, with a particular focus on specialties related to maternal and child health.

In this sense, he specified that this initiative constitutes a favorable opportunity to recall the importance of respecting the schedule of medical consultations, at a rate of four prenatal appointments and three visits during the postpartum period, in order to guarantee a risk-free pregnancy and optimal monitoring.

For her part, Nadia Bachiri, in charge of monitoring projects related to women's and children's health within the Social Action Division (DAS) under the prefecture of Marrakech, emphasized that this caravan also intends to encourage women to adopt more responsible health behaviors, emphasizing the importance of the first 1,000 days of the child, a crucial period during which medical support is essential.

Ms. Bachiri also noted that this solidarity action embodies the constant commitment of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) in favor of maternal and child health, by facilitating access to quality healthcare and raising women's awareness of the good practices to adopt during and after pregnancy.

This medical caravan is part of the national communication campaign on the importance of monitoring and prenatal care (April 7 - May 8), launched by the INDH, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, and placed under the slogan "Early and regular pregnancy monitoring... To preserve the health of the mother and the baby".
