Fes – The Minister of Solidarity, Social Inclusion and the Family, Naima Ben Yahia, highlighted on Friday in Fes the significant progress made by Morocco in the field of gender equality, in accordance with the enlightened vision of HM King Mohammed VI.
"Moroccan women are now recognised as an essential element of society, a recognition that has been reflected in notable advances in gender equality," indicated Ms. Ben Yahia to the MAP on the sidelines of the 15th edition of the "Fes Gate" awards initiated by the "Bouabate-Fes" Association in celebration of its 15th anniversary and International Women's Day.
The Minister, who received the "Institutional Trophy" on this occasion, noted that "this distinction did not belong to her solely on a personal basis, but rewarded all the efforts of the Ministry of Solidarity in favour of social inclusion and the empowerment of women."
During this edition of the "Fes Gate" awards, several Moroccan and foreign personalities were honoured for their exceptional contributions in various fields. Among the winners are Meryem Chami, Director General of AXA Assurance, rewarded for her contribution to the economic sector; Benjelloun Khadija, head of a division at the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, honoured in the Magistracy category; and Souad Mekkaoui, co-founder of Maroc Diplomatique, distinguished in the field of media.
