The impact of AI on employability is at the center of the 9th edition of the HR Forum of the Private University of Fez (UPF), which opened on Thursday.
Opening the forum, which spans two days, the president of the UPF, Mohammed Aziz Lahlou, emphasized that this event, which has become "a flagship tradition" of the university's academic calendar, "reflects our unwavering commitment to preparing our students for their professional integration and offering them future prospects worthy of their ambitions".
"Our university places the employability and success of its students at the heart of its mission", stated Mr. Lahlou, expressing the university's firm conviction that "higher education must be the engine of a successful career", reports the MAP.
"Today, more than 85% of our graduates secure their first job within a period not exceeding six months after obtaining their degree, a result we are particularly proud of", he welcomed, adding that beyond employability, the university also distinguishes itself by its commitment to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.
"Thanks to our KUB 789 incubator, we offer customized support to project leaders, helping them transform their ideas into viable and high-performing companies", explained Mr. Lahlou, adding that this space is a true innovation laboratory "where our students and young entrepreneurs benefit from resources, mentoring, and a network of partners to realize their ambitions".
"Our ambition is to make every student a key player in their field, capable of evolving successfully in a demanding and constantly changing professional environment", he said, emphasizing the importance of the links and trust established between the UPF and several partner companies.
Speaking on this occasion, experts estimated that AI is today a necessity for which individuals, just like organizations, should prepare, especially since it represents a promising niche in terms of wealth creation.
Thus, Mohammed Jadri, economic analyst and Director of the Observatory of Government Action, returned in this context to the positive impact and the risks and challenges of artificial intelligence, particularly at the level of Morocco, citing, in this sense, the creation of new jobs and the transformation of existing ones.
He estimated that AI represents a unique opportunity to transform employability in Morocco, hence the need for proactive preparation to limit risks, adding that AI is likely to transform "our challenges into strengths".
For his part, the Head of Digitalization and Development Project at the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Fez-Meknes, Ayoub Zouak, explored the transition to AI and its implications for companies and careers.
Mr. Zouak argued that succeeding in this mutation necessarily involves digital transformation, estimating that the latter implies key actions, notably the development of Top management to streamline the circulation of information, the training of human capital, the change of the business model, in addition to mental resilience through the assimilation of new technologies to create wealth.
This conference was also an opportunity to return to the challenges to be met and the sectors targeted by the 2030 World Cup, a transformative event for the regional economy, with Fez being among the cities selected to host this global event.
At the end of this meeting, several partnership agreements were signed between the UPF and partner private establishments with the objective of promoting the employability of graduates and openness to its socio-economic environment.
