Fès.. Opening of the thirty-ninth edition of the National Architect's Day

Fès.. Opening of the thirty-ninth edition of the National Architect's Day

This event, organized by the National Council of the Order of Architects, in partnership with the Ministry of National Land Use Planning, Urbanism, Housing, and City Policy, brings together architects, experts, and decision-makers around a topical theme which is energy and water.

The opening ceremony took place in the presence of, among others, the Secretary of State to the Minister of National Land Use Planning, Urbanism, Housing, and City Policy, in charge of Housing, Adib Benbrahim, the Wali of the Fès-Meknès Region, Governor of the Fès Prefecture, Mouad Jamai, and the governors of the prefectures and provinces of the region.

The opening of this meeting was marked by the signing of a partnership agreement between the National Council of the Order of Architects and the company "STRUGA", within the framework of strengthening its partnerships with actors in the construction ecosystem. This agreement, signed on the sidelines of the annual event of the National Council of the Order of Architects, aims to establish a fruitful collaboration between the two parties.

In a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), the president of the National Council of the Order of Architects, Chakib Benabdellah, emphasized the importance of this partnership, which is part of the regular cooperation of the Council with key actors in the construction sector.

He added that under this agreement, the company "STRUGA" commits to supporting the National Council of the Order of Architects and its regional councils in providing specialized training for architects on joinery systems and aluminum and glass facades.

Mr. Benabdellah described this partnership, which concerns "assistance and training", as beneficial for architects, reaffirming the openness of the National Council of the Order of Architects to "win-win" cooperation with private partners.

He noted that the Council has many partnerships with other private bodies, explaining that the supervisory ministry remains its primary ally.

It is worth noting that this annual meeting, which was established to commemorate the historic speech delivered by His Majesty King Hassan II, may God rest his soul, on 14 January 1986 in Marrakech, falls this year in a context characterized by an environmental emergency and focuses on the pivotal role of architects in the transition towards sustainable development, while reviewing innovative approaches to face the growing challenges related to water stress and energy management.

The thirty-ninth edition of the National Architect's Day opened today, Tuesday in Fès, under the theme "The citizen architect facing climate change: Energy and water issues".
