Fez: Fouzi Lekjaa, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, Mostapha Bousmina, and Françoise Atlan win the "Mediterranean 2024" awards

The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, the High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, the president of the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez, Mostapha Bousmina, and the Franco-Moroccan singer Françoise Atlan received the award at a ceremony attended by the Advisor to HM the King, André Azoulay, on the sidelines of the "Euro-Mediterranean University Meetings on the Future of Civilizations," organized under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI under the theme "Rebuilding Trust for a United and Plural World."

The president of the FRMF and the High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations were awarded the "Mediterranean 2024" Prize in the "Institutions" category.

As for the president of the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez, he received the same award in the "Culture" category, while the Mediterranean 2024 Prize in the "Art and Creativity" category went to the Franco-Moroccan singer Françoise Atlan.

On this occasion, the international jury, composed of about forty members, paid a vibrant tribute to each of the winners, recalling their outstanding professional careers and saluting their exceptional contributions, each in their own field, to the cause of peace, coexistence, and harmony between the peoples of the two shores of the Mediterranean and elsewhere.

Created in 1995 by the United States of the World, the organization that initiated this Prize, together with the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Mediterranean Academy, the "Mediterranean Prize," with its multiple categories, is awarded annually to personalities from the political, religious, cultural, and artistic worlds who have contributed, through their actions, to reducing tensions and initiating a process of valuing cultural differences and shared values in the Greater Mediterranean area and the entire world.
