In a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse agency, the Prefect of Police of Fez, Mohamed Ouala Ouhitit, reported that this security plan sees the participation of all security formations and units, to ensure effective accompaniment of all celebrations, and to maintain public order.
Mr. Ouala Ouhitit confirmed "We will be present in all places, and we will work to ensure the fluidity of traffic on various axes, as well as securing hotels, restaurants, and large markets."
The Prefect of Police of Fez explained that the security units will be present from the first hours of the celebrations until the morning of tomorrow, and will cover all neighbourhoods and axes of the city.
He confirmed that "our goal is for every citizen and visitor to the city of Fez to feel safe, and that security is by his side and near him."
These measures include strengthening the security presence in areas that witness great congestion, especially popular and residential neighbourhoods, main squares, and sensitive points located at the entrances and exits of the city. Techno-cynological units were also mobilised to strengthen judicial barriers and ensure optimal monitoring.
Thanks to these exceptional security measures, the authorities seek to provide safe atmospheres to enable the people of Fez and visitors to celebrate the New Year in the best conditions, while respecting the rules of public order.
