The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tahraoui, oversaw on Tuesday in Fez the launch of services at the cardiac catheterization center at the Cardiology and Vascular Medicine Department at the Al-Ghassani Regional Hospital Center.
This project with a regional dimension, which cost 16.4 million dirhams to complete, is the result of a partnership between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Regional Council, and the "Injad" Association.
This center will enable approximately 4.5 million people in the Fez-Meknes region to access health services related to heart and vascular diseases, and will also contribute to reducing waiting times for specialized surgical interventions in the heart and blood vessels, especially cardiac catheterization operations.
This center, which is the first of its kind at the level of regional hospitals, aims to strengthen the specialized health offer in the Fez-Meknes region, and improve the services provided to heart patients who need urgent intervention through cardiac catheterization under the supervision of an integrated and specialized medical and nursing team with high competence, in accordance with the latest medical standards and techniques adopted in this field.
It also aims to relieve pressure on other departments in the region's hospitals, in addition to responding to the increasing demand of the population of the Fez-Meknes region for cardiology and vascular medicine services, with a view to reducing morbidity and mortality rates associated with these diseases.
It is noteworthy that the center's services were inaugurated in the presence of the Wali of the Fez-Meknes region, Governor of the Fez Prefecture, Mouad El Jamai, with advanced biomedical equipment, and an integrated and specialized medical and nursing team with high competence.
