The verdict was delivered on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Mohamed Boudrika was sentenced to 5 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 DH, along with a one-year ban on issuing cheques.
This was decided by the Casablanca Court of First Instance, where the trial of the real estate developer with a controversial reputation began a few weeks ago. The accused burst into tears after the judgment was pronounced, which he described as a symbolic death sentence. Placed in detention after his extradition from Germany on Thursday, April 24, 2025, the former RNI deputy-mayor of the Al Fida-Mers Sultan district had legal troubles, in addition to cases of bounced cheques, regarding a file of forgery and use of forgery related to the falsification of a certificate of compliance and completion of works concerning an economic housing complex in the Lahraouiyine area (outskirts of Casablanca). This is a document issued, in accordance with the law in force, by the project architect. But Boudrika did not wait for the end of the construction site to obtain it legally from the architect. He allowed himself to falsify the certificate, and it was while passing by the project that he discovered the deception: the apartments were being put up for sale, with a good portion already occupied.
Alerted by this situation which engages his responsibility, the architect contacted the services of the Lahraouiyine commune, who informed him that the developer had obtained the occupancy permit after producing all the necessary documents, including the famous certificate. Result: the architect filed a complaint against the former president of Raja and former RNI elected official who did not hesitate to trample on the law. To put the housing on sale, collect money quickly, and get ahead of the competition, he was ready for anything. This eagerness to sell before others by saving time through fraudulent methods is a family trait among the Boudrikas.
Was he not the cause of the collapse in February 2026 of a four-story building under construction belonging to Mohamed Boudrika's father, located in the Ain Chock district of Casablanca? This accident cost the lives of two masons, and three others were left with injuries. The father, who wanted to finish the site quickly to start marketing the apartments, tried to blame the architect and the design office. But the responsibility lies with the real estate developer who ordered the site manager to start building the fourth floor while the concrete slab of the third floor had not had the necessary time to dry.
This was the version of events supported by the president of the Aïn Chock commune at the time and the Casablanca Order of Architects. A credible thesis refuted by the project owner, whose actions at the origin of this deadly catastrophe strangely earned him no sanctions. At the time, the Boudrika family, whose charm still worked in various circles, used its support and benefited from a certain impunity. But times have changed since then. Proof: a brother of Mohamed Boudrika, Abdallah, received 5 years in prison at the end of January 2025 in a dark story of forgery, with the complicity, among others, of a notary named Younes Sayeh, of a promise of sale and a final sales contract for a villa.
Pronounced by the Casablanca Court of Appeal, the conviction of the Boudrika brother is added to another 6-year prison sentence in another story of 'forgery and use of forgery' and 'falsification of official documents related to land property', in the Casablanca-Settat region. The two Boudrika brothers have finally met again. At the Oukacha penitentiary, Mohamed Boudrika did everything to flee, going so far as to simulate a medical stay abroad to leave the country. But justice finally caught up with him.
