Casablanca is preparing to vibrate to the rhythm of the 1st edition of the Casablanca Music Week (CMW), a multidisciplinary musical event that will be held from 20 to 29 June at La Casablancaise, bringing together major artists around a diverse and varied programme, with more than 10,000 festival-goers expected each day.
Initiated by NRJ Maroc, this unprecedented urban festival aims to promote the metropolis through a celebration of music, entertainment and contemporary creativity, offering a multidisciplinary experience combining music, cinema, gaming, sport and intellectual exchanges.
"With more than 10,000 festival-goers expected over the ten days, the CMW will bring together world-renowned artists, emerging talents and a large public around a rich and varied programme," announced Hakim Chagraoui, founder, artistic director of the festival and DG of NRJ Maroc, during a press conference.
According to him, this first edition is only a beginning. "The CMW will carry the image of Casablanca higher every year. What we are building here is a sustainable platform for cultural exchange and innovation."
"The CMW is a vision that has become reality. We wanted to create an event that reflects the energy of Casablanca, its diversity, its youth, and its position as a crossroads of cultures. This first edition carries a clear ambition: to make Casablanca an essential cultural hub at the regional level," he maintained.
For the Director General of Casablanca Events and Animation, Mohamed Jouahri, "this event is part of a dynamic of cultural transformation that we have been carrying for several years in Casablanca. Through the Casablanca Music Week, we seek to establish a new way of experiencing culture in an urban environment."
"By supporting this initiative, we affirm with conviction the vocation of Casablanca to become a stage open to artistic innovation, urban cultures and contemporary forms of expression. The CMW aligns perfectly with our vision: that of a metropolis that inspires, brings together and gives a voice to its creative youth," he added.
For his part, the Casablanca-Settat Regional Director of the National Society for the Realisation and Management of Sports Equipment (SONARGES), Benaissa Boujnouni, welcomed the fact that La Casablancaise is hosting an event of such magnitude. "The opening of this space to major cultural events illustrates our desire to make it a versatile hub, at the service of Moroccan youth and creativity. The CMW is a beautiful demonstration of this potential," he rejoiced.
"The CMW is a concrete illustration of this: it demonstrates the full potential of this site to host major cultural events, capable of mobilising and uniting a large public," he said.
The festival weekends will be marked by performances by international stars, with prestigious headliners such as Jason Derulo, Gims, Mary J. Blige, Hussain Al Jasmi, and Hoba Hoba Spirit. These artists, coming from the four corners of the world, will offer unforgettable shows, covering genres ranging from R&B to hip-hop, to pop and Arabic and Moroccan music.
The CMW is not limited to concerts. The festival will integrate film screenings, allowing the public to discover the latest releases within La Casablancaise. Gaming enthusiasts will be able to compete in exciting competitions, while sports enthusiasts will enjoy dynamic activities such as fitness.
A cycle of conferences will bring together experts and cultural actors to discuss the future of events and creative industries. These exchanges will enrich the experience of festival-goers, adding an intellectual dimension to this resolutely complete festival.
The CMW village will be a real place of life, bringing together a food zone with around fifteen restaurateurs, immersive stands offered by partners, and happenings around cinema, gaming and sport.
Tickets are available on webook.com and guichet.com, with two access formats: Gold or Black Tickets, as well as Gold or Black cards that give access to all concerts.
