Casablanca: Yango launches a new feature to better plan urban journeys
Yango SuperApp, an application developed by the international technology group Yango Group, has announced the launch of a new feature called Traffic Score in its Navigator service. This new tool allows for real-time assessment of congestion levels on the roads of Casablanca, enabling residents to plan their journeys.
Casablanca: Yango launches a new feature to better plan urban journeys
In a press release issued this Monday, Yango specified that this new feature is intended to assist residents and visitors with their travel within the city, particularly as major events such as the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) or the AFIS Africa approach. This tool meets a growing need for precise information on traffic conditions in order to better plan urban journeys.

Thanks to technology that continuously collects traffic data across all the city's streets, a traffic score is generated automatically on a scale of 0 to 10: 0 indicating fluid traffic, and 10 corresponding to traffic that is almost at a standstill, the Yango group specifies.

This real-time assessment aims to simplify urban mobility by providing instant updates as well as suggestions for more efficient routes, including in the most complex urban networks.

Integrated into the SuperApp, this tool is aimed at users who use several services daily, such as ride-hailing or meal delivery. The feature is accessible from the SuperApp home screen or via the “Navigator” section in the journey overview.

By clicking on the traffic score, users can check live traffic conditions, adjust their route to avoid traffic jams, and adapt their journey according to current road conditions. For example, during major events in Casablanca, axes such as Boulevard Yacoub El Mansour, Boulevard Abdelmoumen, Boulevard 2 Mars, or even Boulevard Zerktouni frequently experience heavy congestion. If the situation changes during the journey, the navigation service automatically suggests faster alternative routes, explains Yango.

Quoted in the same press release, Shashi Shekhar Singh, Head of Operations at Yango Ride-hailing for the MENAP & Africa region, expressed the operator's commitment to improving daily life in Moroccan cities: “Faced with traffic jams, people need reliable solutions to save time and travel more serenely. With the SuperApp, we go beyond the service: we transform urban constraints into opportunities, so that everyone can regain control of their day,” he declared.
