With an estimated investment of 15 billion dirhams (1.6 billion dollars), this new terminal, scheduled for the end of 2029, will accommodate 20 million additional passengers per year. It will strengthen Casablanca's strategic position as an intercontinental hub connecting Europe, Africa and the Americas, while supporting the rise of Royal Air Maroc as a national carrier.
This project is part of ONDA's "Airports 2030" strategy, which aims to develop smarter, greener and more connected infrastructure. The future terminal will integrate the latest technologies in global aviation: fluidity and digitalisation of the passenger journey, energy sustainability, climate resilience and operational excellence. An integrated TGV station will also connect Casablanca to Rabat in 30 minutes and to Marrakech in less than an hour.
To carry out this strategic project, ONDA has launched two international calls for expressions of interest, we learn from a press release from the Office published this Wednesday:

To carry out this strategic project, ONDA has launched two international calls for expressions of interest, we learn from a press release from the Office published this Wednesday:
- A Programme Manager, responsible for supervising the project as a whole (terminal building, runways, taxi areas, annex buildings) and coordinating stakeholders according to international standards.
- A builder or group of companies, responsible for detailed engineering and construction of the terminal, including the integration of airport systems provided by third parties.
This iconic project reflects Morocco's ambition to make air transport an essential pillar of its economic and tourism development. By strengthening connectivity and boosting employment and investment, the future terminal will consolidate the Kingdom's role on the international aviation scene, particularly in view of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
