Three women and two little girls reported missing following the flooding of the Oued Alfet in the Azilal province
Three women and two little girls were reported missing on Monday following the flooding of the Oued Alfet in the commune of Tiloukit, falling under the province of Azilal, caused by torrential rains and stormy winds, it was learned from local authorities.
The five missing persons were sheltering in one of the three houses swept away by the waters, the same source specifies.
Local authorities, members of the civil protection, and residents of the commune are still searching for the missing persons.
The strong floods caused by torrential rains have caused material damage, including the cutting of the regional road N 302, notably between the Tiloukit Centre and the Douar of Aminouak, over a distance of 6 km, as well as the collapse of a bridge over Oued Ahansal, according to the same source.
Equipment from the services of the provincial directorate of Equipment, Transport and Logistics has been mobilised urgently to rectify the situation.
