A medical caravan in the Tidili commune

The Youth Club of the "Le Grand Atlas" association recently organised a multidisciplinary medical caravan for the benefit of the population of the rural commune of Tidili, in the Ouarzazate province. This solidarity operation is in line with the social activities carried out by the "Le Grand Atlas" association in favour of vulnerable groups and is intended to be an extension of other actions undertaken by this institution for the benefit of destitute social segments, the latest of which dates back to last January in the locality of Zemrane, in the Kelâat Sraghna province.

A medical staff composed of 12 doctors of various specialties, including paediatrics, gynaecology, endocrinology, and ophthalmology, 4 nurses, and 6 opticians was mobilised for the occasion to provide the patients of this isolated commune with a range of fundamental medical services, including specialised consultations, care procedures, and the free distribution of medicines. This charitable action, which aimed to fight against inequalities in terms of medical services and to facilitate access to care for the disadvantaged populations of this region, benefited some 1,100 people, including 500 children and 400 women. The caravan was also used to raise awareness among mothers and children about the virtues of breastfeeding and personal and oral hygiene.

This initiative was a great success in that it was able to bring a smile to the faces of the populations in these isolated areas and allowed everyone to return home with a treatment adapted to their pathology. Commendable in every respect, the approach was indeed duly praised by all the inhabitants who, due to their social precariousness, experience many difficulties in accessing health services.
