Royal donation to the Chorfas Alamiyines on the occasion of the moussem of Moulay Abdessalam Ben M'chich

The Chamberlain of H.M. the King, Charif Sidi Mohammed El Alaoui, proceeded on Friday at Jbel Alem (rural commune of Tazrout, falling under the province of Larache) to the delivery of a royal donation to the Chorfas Alamiyines, descendants of Moulay Abdessalam Ben M'chich, on the occasion of the opening of the moussem of this holy man, corresponding to the 15th day of Chaâbane. The delivery of the royal donation took place during a large religious ceremony held at the sanctuary of the Sheikh of the Chorfas Alamiyines and Machichiyines, in the presence notably of the Governor of the province of Larache, Nabil Kharroubi, the Dean of the Chorfas Alamiyines, Abdelhadi Baraka, followers of the Tariqa Machichia, and several other personalities. This ceremony was marked by the participation of a delegation from the Southern provinces representing notably the Sahrawi tribes of the Rguibates and Lâaroussyine, who have kinship ties with the Chorfas Alamiyines. The representatives of these tribes emphasized on this occasion that this participation demonstrates the unbreakable ties uniting the chorfas of the North and those of the South of the Kingdom, and more generally the unity of the Moroccan people attached to their territorial integrity and the glorious Alaouite Throne. During this ceremony, marked by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the "Salat Machichiya", the audience raised prayers imploring the Almighty to preserve H.M. King Mohammed VI and to bless the Sovereign in the persons of H.R.H. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, H.R.H. Prince Moulay Rachid, and all the members of the illustrious Royal Family. The audience also raised prayers for the repose of the souls of the late Sovereigns, the late H.M. Hassan II and the late H.M. Mohammed V. The lineage of the Chorfas Alamiyine and Machichiyine goes back to Sheikh Abdessalam Ben M'chich, one of the eminent Sufi chioukhs of Morocco, descendant of the lineage of Fatema-Zahraa, daughter of the prophet Sidna Mohammed. Moulay Abdessalam Ben M'chich Alami, who died in 622 of the Hegira, had acquired great notoriety for his vast knowledge and the consecration of his life to worship and preaching, leaving a rich heritage bequeathed from generation to generation. He counts illustrious followers, such as Imam Abou El-Hassan Chadili, founder of the Chadilia brotherhood, very widespread in the Islamic world.
