The bookshops of Tangier - The columns

  • About
  • Reviews

Tangier, city of creators, has been and still is a very special place for writers and lovers of literature. Its iconic bookstores have accompanied each other, and at the same time, have remained a very good meeting point for many cultures and an undeniable part of the soul of the city and those who live there. The Librairie des Colonnes, inaugurated in 1949 in the Boulevard Pasteur, is the best known and oldest of them all. Les Insolites, opened in 2010, offers a meticulous selection of books, exhibitions and quality cultural activities. Among the most remarkable bookstores in the city: Le Cercle des Arts, La Virgule or La Marocaine.
