The solemn Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Tangier is an architectural masterpiece by the Spanish architect Luis M. Feduchi. Built in 1953, it is the main Catholic church of the city and the seat of the archdiocese, one of the two existing in Morocco. Its basic Latin cross interior, the use of lights and colors, but also the stained glass windows by Master Labra, the five large wrought-iron lamps, of Roman inspiration, and the two-meter high bronze statue of Christ hanging below the presbytery turn it into a fascinating and out of time setting.
