The church and cemetery of St. Andrew, represent one of the perfect illustrations of the intercultural character of Tangier. Built in 1894 on a piece of land donated to Queen Victory of England by Sultan Moulay Hassan, the Moorish-Andalusian style church features a surprising interior space. Its Orthodox worship altar faces a "Our Father" written in Arabic in the shape of a Muslim mihrab that surrounds the main altar. In the cemetery lie several illustrious personalities such as Walter Burton Harris or the Maclean Caïd.
