Grand mass of microcredit in Tangier

The National Micro-entrepreneur Prize is back for a third edition to pay tribute to the women and men who have succeeded, thanks to microcredit, in improving their income and living conditions.
Grand mass of microcredit in Tangier

To this end, and after Skhirat and Casablanca, the choice fell this year on the Pearl of the North to host this third prize, the launch of whose activities will take place on Tuesday, 9 December, at the Maison de la Presse. This annual event, dubbed “Micro-entrepreneur Days,” reinforces the role of proximity advocated by the Mohammed VI Centre for Solidarity Microfinance Support. “This third national prize will henceforth be part of a five-day travelling programme honouring microcredit beneficiaries,” indicates a press release issued recently.

Initiated jointly by the Mohammed VI Centre for Solidarity Microfinance Support and the National Federation of Microcredit Associations, this third edition plans to cover an area of 600 m2. This will thus allow 60 micro-entrepreneurs from the Tangier-Tétouan region to be brought together, to whom the new winners of the micro-entrepreneur prize will be added. “Micro-entrepreneurs will thus benefit from an exhibition space that will allow them to exhibit and market,” according to the organisers.

It should be noted that this third national prize aims, like the two previous editions, to reward microcredit beneficiaries, while valuing, as a sign of recognition, their talent, courage, and creativity. Some 30 micro-entrepreneurs will be awarded prizes during this event, after having been subjected to a rigorous selection process.

“This prize will reward the incredible human and entrepreneurial adventure of 30 micro-entrepreneurs among the 180 candidates who applied across Morocco,” according to the organisers.

It should be specified that this third edition will, like the two previous years, honour women micro-entrepreneurs. Because among the six categories awarded during this event, there is the prize for the best female micro-enterprise. “This prize rewards a woman micro-entrepreneur who has had an exceptional professional career,” adds the same press release.
