Barely two editions and the Employment Caravan has become an unmissable event. Having travelled through four cities out of seven in total, this Caravan succeeded, on Thursday 9 May, in making future and young graduates discover the specificities of the job market in Tangier and its region and meeting recruiters. The contribution of this initiative is, according to the organisers, beneficial for the region, which suffers from an unemployment rate of 8.4% against 9.1% at the national level.

It constitutes, therefore, a true travelling fair with a view to meeting the particular needs of different sectors including tourism in Marrakech, agriculture in Agadir, offshoring in Casablanca or even high-tech industry in Tangier. Given the success of this Caravan, whose second edition is halfway through, "this forum will grow and will take on scale from year to year. The Tangier stage is distinguished by a greater influx of job seekers and a significant number of exhibitors and professionals in recruitment and training," affirms Hicham Lakhmiri, General Manager of AmalJob.

Like the other regions, this second edition allowed, during the Tangier stage, to make existing skills available to recruiters and for young candidates to have a wide choice and opportunities for hiring or entrepreneurship. Launched on 7 March in Agadir by the online recruiter AmalJOB, the Caravan constitutes an excellent and effective road show to identify quality profiles.

"The objective of our participation in this second edition is twofold: firstly, to go and meet future and young graduates and secondly, to make new high value-added professions known. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the profiles of graduates from major schools in Tangier, and this in the fields of audit, finance or accounting...", specifies Othmane Touzani Idrissi, representative of the International Corporate Business Support (ICBS) in Tangier.

In addition to meetings with recruitment professionals, this event allows visitors to learn about professional training and participate in job search workshops. "We present to visitors our technical education and agricultural vocational training system. We have 52 establishments spread over the five regions. We provide there, for one year, training through apprenticeship to the sons and daughters of farmers.

We offer another initial training at three levels, namely skilled workers, technicians and specialised technicians. Our graduates are 70% inserted and they are 100% recruited in certain sectors such as topography, mechanics, techno-commercial, poultry farming...", explains Abdelmalik Dadi, agricultural engineer at the directorate of education, training and research.

The 2013 Employment Caravan will be in Rabat on 23 May, before ending on 6 June in Casablanca.
