For a harmonised development of the region The project to harmonise the planning products of the rural communes of the region was officially launched on Tuesday, April 3, in Tangier.
For a harmonised development of the region

The city of the strait hosted, on Tuesday, April 3, an information day to examine the results and the progress of the process of developing the communal development plans (PCD) of the region. Organised by the regional council of Tangier-Tetouan in partnership with the Interdisciplinary Association for Development and Environment Targa-Aide, this event, which benefited from the support of the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation, was distinguished by the launch of the project "Harmonisation of the planning products of the rural communes of the Tangier-Tetouan region". According to the participants in this information day, the implementation of PCDs by each commune is a real challenge in terms of strengthening communal capacities. "These plans do not constitute ends in themselves, but a means of transmitting skills between communes and consecrating communal management based on strategic planning", explains Khalid Sarhane, representative of the General Directorate of Local Authorities.

This information day was an opportunity to present the assessment of the current situation of PCDs at the level of the provinces of the Tangier-Tetouan region. It emerges that the development of these plans is based, among other things, on surveys, inter-douar workshops, and participatory forums open to all components of the population, the majority of which are in the finalisation phase.

The presentation of these PCDs was followed by that of the project "Harmonisation of the planning products of the rural communes of the Tangier-Tetouan region". Financed by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation, this project is launched in the continuity of the planning of rural communes and initiating the beginning of regional integration. According to Hanane El Khachani, head of the international cooperation service at the Tangier-Tetouan regional council, this project is part of the advanced regionalisation project in general and the harmonised development of the region in particular. "The present project is also part of the continuity of other actions carried out and currently being carried out in the region, namely the PCDs", she affirms.

Let us emphasise that this project is the result of two partnership agreements that the Targa Association concluded respectively with the Tangier-Tetouan regional council and the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation. "This project will make it possible to identify common actions, and to envisage actions complementary to those provided for by the PCDs, for complementary support, registered in a logic of optimisation of available means and pooling of efforts, of creating synergy between territories and of integrated and sustainable development", according to the initiators of this project.
