A week after its launch in Rabat, the Mawazine-Rhythms of the World Festival takes its final turn this Friday before closing tomorrow evening in the capital.
On the eighth day of this event of international scale, festival-goers have an appointment with two rising stars of Moroccan song well known to music lovers. These are: Hatim Ammor and Hoda Saad.
Two young artists from Moroccan (Studio 2M and Noujoum Al Ghad) and pan-Arab (X Factor) talent shows who marked the viewers in the most beautiful way and left excellent impressions on the juries of the said programmes.
We can therefore say, without risk of being wrong, that these two stars will shine brightly this evening on the Nahda stage where they will confirm all the good things said about them.
Author of several successful singles, Hatim Ammor will open the ball from 9:15 p.m. The winner of Studio 2M (2005) will offer the public a repertoire composed of popular oriental and Moroccan songs that made his reputation. The artist, who leads a career as an actor in parallel, will perform some tracks from his first album, "Chabba", released in 2010. And he was, without a doubt, to gratify the public with his first track: Wala Marra. All in an atmosphere that one can imagine friendly and festive.
Just after his performance, the singer Hoda Saad will respond in a show that is intended to be just as friendly. The young woman, whose performances were unanimously praised during her appearances on the programme Noujoum Al Ghad and then at the X Factor competition in Lebanon, was passionate about music very early on. She would, moreover, be admitted to the conservatory at 12 years old, with the blessing of her parents. It should be remembered that Hoda Saad comes from a family of artists.
This evening, one can think that she will offer a show in the image of her nascent notoriety in a show that promises excellent moments of relaxation.
Another artist who has proven herself: Laila Lamrini. An artist with a magnificent voice whose presence and talent make her a singer apart.
This young specialist in traditional Moroccan music, originally from Meknes, distinguishes herself in the melhoun and Andalusian and Gharnati music genres.
It should be noted that other concerts are planned for the same evening, on other stages. Indeed, the public will also applaud the Lebanese Mohamed Iskandar and the Moroccan lioness of the Atlas, Najat Aatabou (Sale); the Maghreb orchestra El Gusto (Mohammed V Theatre); the Turkish singer Aynur at the Chellah, the Swede of Moroccan origin Loreen and the genius composer and performer, Enrique Iglesias (OLM Souissi). And a little late in the night, the public will have an appointment with the famous Malian couple Amadou and Mariam (Bouregreb stage).
