Inauguration of social projects in Oujda: a new consecration of the constant royal solicitude towards the human element

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, proceeded on Wednesday to the inauguration of socio-sporting and educational projects in the city of Oujda, new structures that illustrate the constant royal solicitude towards the human element and which give a strong impetus to the programmes launched within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).
Inauguration of social projects in Oujda: a new consecration of the constant royal solicitude towards the human element

The Sovereign thus inaugurated a home for the elderly “Riad Al Moussinine” and a socio-sporting and training complex “Al Bassatine”, realised for a total investment of nearly 26 million dirhams. The realisation of these projects, which aim at the development of sporting activities, the strengthening of local facilities, the promotion of the conditions of women and young girls, and the care of certain vulnerable social categories, proceeds from the vision of the Sovereign who places the human element at the heart of any development process. Having mobilised a budget of 16 million dirhams, the home for the elderly aims at the care, in terms of accommodation, catering, medical monitoring, and general well-being, of elderly people without resources or family support. With a total area of 10,000 m² (5,408 m² covered), “Riad Al Moussinine” includes in particular 80 double rooms (40 for men and 40 for women), a multipurpose room, spaces for people with specific needs, a medical service, a Moorish bath, a pharmacy, a refectory, and green spaces. The “Al Bassatine” socio-sporting and training complex (9.5 MDH) aims, for its part, at the development of the sporting and artistic aptitudes of children and young people, the fight against delinquency and school dropout, and the socio-cultural and sporting integration of target populations through broad access to basic equipment and services. It also sets itself the objectives of training women in local trades that generate income and jobs (domestic arts, cutting and sewing, hairdressing and aesthetics, computing, painting, embroidery), the fight against illiteracy, and the listening, orientation, and socio-economic integration of women in precarious situations. Fruit of a partnership between the National Initiative for Human Development (5.5 MDH), the National Mutual Aid (2.5 MDH), the Ministry of Youth and Sports (1.5 MDH), and the urban commune of Oujda (land), this project includes in particular a library, computer rooms, music rooms, school support rooms, a space for children (crèche and daycare), and another for education and training. The realisation of these various projects confirms the particular interest that H.M. the King attaches to the INDH projects, by personally ensuring the monitoring of the execution and progress of these programmes. It also testifies to the open and permanent character of this reign project. Furthermore, the prefecture of Oujda-Angad saw the realisation of 55 INDH projects for the year 2012, for a total investment of 89.24 million dirhams. The INDH contributes to it to the tune of 51.36 million DH. Benefiting more than 84,200 people, these projects are part of the four programmes of the INDH, namely the programme for the fight against poverty in rural areas, the programme for the fight against social exclusion in urban areas, the programme for the fight against precariousness, and the transversal programme. A budget of 35.07 million dirhams was, moreover, allocated during the first half of the year 2013 for the realisation of 29 INDH projects.
