The Health Solidarity and Development Center Association, in partnership with the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, the Ministry of Health, and the Regional Health Directorate of Casablanca, recently organized a medical caravan for the screening of breast and cervical cancer in women, as well as chronic diseases.
This caravan, which benefited 1,100 people, most of whom are women and children, was organized in the rural communes of Mqam Tolbat and Ait Ikko. A team of specialist doctors, nurses, and civil society actors was mobilized to ensure the smooth running of this operation, which lasted two days.
It is part of the proximity policy aimed at guaranteeing access to specialized medical services for the benefit of the vulnerable population. The objective of this caravan is to allow the needy to benefit from medical services in various specialties, thanks in particular to this type of large-scale social action, explains Driss Kaddari, president of the association. Let us note in this sense that in addition to medical services, the caravan team also identified cases requiring surgical interventions or continuous medical follow-up, in order to direct patients to specialized hospital establishments.
Medicines were also given free of charge to the beneficiaries of the caravan. Furthermore, the association plans to organize a similar caravan in the rural commune of Ait Yaddine and that of Kenzra in the province of Khémisset.
