The labelled seaside resort

For the fourth consecutive time, the Blue Flag is flying over the seaside resort of Oualidia. Indeed, with its 12 km fine sand beach on the Atlantic, the blue pearl of the Doukkala has been awarded three times by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the International Foundation for Environmental Education. Likewise, it was awarded the cleanliness and safety prize in 2009, the individual effort trophy in 2013, the commitment trophy in 2014 and the clean beaches trophy. According to data from the Sidi Bennour province, several measures have been taken, in partnership with several stakeholders, in order to offer quality services to holidaymakers and to improve awareness regarding the importance of preserving the environment.

Halfway between Casablanca and Essaouira, Oualidia is a seaside resort unique in its kind. It is a 12-kilometre-long lagoon on the Atlantic coast. In Oualidia, land and ocean have confronted and mingled for millennia. They have created an oval lagoon closed by cliffs. At each tide, the waves, which make surfers dream, cross the two passes, come to fill the lagoon, then retreat. Its historical vestiges, its caves, its fishermen who nest in its rocks form a singular setting in this natural wonder... Each moment is unique in this place unique in the world. One discovers cliffs, points and reefs constantly beaten by the winds and waves.
