Imouzzer des Ida-Outanane is a small town in south-west Morocco, 60 km north-east of Agadir, in the Agadir Ida-Outanane prefecture. Imouzzer, perched at an altitude of 1,160 metres, is the centre of the Ida-Outanane confederation, Amazigh tribes settled on the high plateaus overlooking the sea, at the extreme west of the High Atlas. In 1811, James Grey Jackson described those he called the Eda utenan as "intrepid and warlike Chleuhs (Shelluhs)".
The town, with its white houses, overlooks a wide valley occupied by a mountain palm grove. It is renowned for its waterfalls, which are spectacular in wet years.
The region, where almond trees are numerous, is famous for its almonds and for its slightly peppery honey. Every year in August, the honey moussem takes place in Imouzzer.
