Marrakech – The 39th edition of the Hassan II Grand Prix of Tennis, which will take place from 31 March to 6 April on the courts of the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech (RTCMA), will be enhanced by the participation of renowned tennis players for an intense competition on clay, the tournament organisers affirmed on Friday in the ochre city.
During a press conference intended to shed light on the final preparations for this major sporting event, the organisers noted that the Hassan II Grand Prix of Tennis constitutes an unavoidable stage and a mandatory passage towards prestigious challenges, which all national and international tennis players dream of.
Speaking on this occasion, the tournament director, Hicham Arazi, indicated that this tournament, which will see the participation of stars of the discipline from more than 25 countries this year, represents a true tradition of sporting excellence and a source of pride for Morocco.
He noted that this year, the choice was made to grant "wildcards" exclusively to Moroccan players in order to offer them a unique opportunity to compete against the elite of world tennis, noting that the Hassan II Grand Prix represents an essential springboard for young Moroccan talents in the discipline.
For his part, the president of the RTCMA, Aziz Tifnouti, stressed that the Kingdom has all the assets to host major sporting events, thanks in particular to its quality infrastructure and great expertise in terms of organisation.
In this context, he welcomed the choice of Marrakech, an imperial and cosmopolitan city, to host this sporting event once again, highlighting the sports infrastructure and high-level tourist accommodation structures of the ochre city.
In this context, Mr. Tifnouti assured that all arrangements have been made to guarantee the success of this prestigious event, highlighting the mobilisation of all local actors to make this event a great celebration of tennis.
Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Hassan II Grand Prix of Tennis, the only ATP 250 tournament in Africa, brings together world-class players every year, who compete to win this prestigious title.
This tournament is highly anticipated every year, not only by tennis lovers, but also by players who wish to add a prestigious title to their record.
It should be recalled that the 38th edition of the Hassan II Grand Prix was won by the Italian Matteo Berrettini at the expense of the Spaniard Roberto Carballés Baena.
