Invited to the show "Polémique" broadcast by the television channel "Chada TV", El Hassan Lachguar, a parliamentary deputy, member of the Socialist-Ittihadi Opposition Group in the House of Representatives, and regional secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, responding to the questions of the host Karim El Hadri who moderated the interview, painted a critical picture of the government's actions since it took office.
El Hassan Lachguar also emphasised the imperative of undertaking a comprehensive reform of all adopted economic and social policies to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of actions carried out by the various executive actors.
In this regard, the Ittihadi deputy referred to the orientations and speeches of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, considering them as a roadmap outlining the major reforms necessary in all sectors and areas of activity dedicated to the well-being of citizens and setting out the action plans to be implemented as well as the necessary budgetary allocations.
Consequently, stressed the USFP parliamentarian, the government, to emerge from its worrying lethargy, need only focus on implementing the necessary revisions and implementing the Royal directives.
Furthermore, addressing the phenomenon of conflicts of interest undermining the transparency of public affairs management and public trust, El Hassan Lachguar highlighted that "the position of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces is clear in this regard, emphasising that any official responsible for managing public affairs, regardless of their rank and the scope of their competence, must not profit from transactions related in any way to their administrative, legal, or organisational responsibility..."
In this vein, the regional secretary of the USFP noted that this issue is being discussed among a wide range of observers and media outlets, as well as some opposition factions, who denounce certain practices that violate provisions prohibiting any form of conflict of interest.
He therefore recommends that the government components be reactive and proactive regarding the cases revealed.
Moreover, in full response to the questions raised by the host moderating the interview, El Hassan Lachguar, regarding humanitarian and charitable campaigns that always unfold as the government's term approaches its end, stressed that such actions carried out by certain associations or through political bodies concretely indicate legal contraventions, especially since there are provisions adopted regarding the organisation of such operations.
Furthermore, the USFP regional official highlighted that the Ittihadi opposition is not a transitional or "tailor-made" opposition, while stressing that it is the most virulent opposition to the government. "Reality confirms this observation through clear political positions expressed on numerous political, economic, and social issues, positions expressed diligently and with complete transparency, as well as through the political positions taken by the two socialist groups in the two parliamentary institutions..."
In this regard, El Hassan Lachguar called for monitoring the relevant action taken by the two Ittihadi opposition groups in the area of controlling their legislative mission.
This is evidenced by the considerable volume of written or oral questions addressed to the government and the remarkable deployment within parliamentary committees, as well as the positions taken through justified voting on vital issues for the population and the country.
On this matter, referring to the Ittihadi initiative for a motion of censure, the USFP regional official indicated that the party was well aware that the required legal quorum was not met, but the objective was to provoke a political debate within the legislative institution and society by alerting the government to its "unbounded hegemonism."
