Members of the public forces were injured during an intervention, Thursday morning, to free a public water asset seized by inhabitants of the Douar Aït Hamza in the Guigou commune (Boulemane district), it was learned from local authorities. Some inhabitants of the said Douar deliberately threw stones at the public forces and committed acts of vandalism, injuring members of the public forces and causing material damage to public authority and civil protection vehicles, the same source specifies.
According to local authorities, the public forces intervened, after several amicable attempts, with a view to freeing the public water asset that had been seized by certain inhabitants of the douar who did not hesitate to cut off the water supplying the Guigou wadi and to forbid other douars from benefiting from irrigation water, contrary to the laws in force. An investigation has been opened into this matter under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, the same source adds.
