The injured were evacuated to the Mohammed V hospital and the Moulay Ismail military hospital to receive the necessary care, according to the same source, adding that 7 people were arrested following these incidents.

The demolition operation targeted a zone prohibited for construction on Tuesday morning, the same source specifies, indicating that dozens of people participated in these acts of vandalism during which the security forces were attacked by stone-throwing while a Royal Gendarmerie car was set on fire.

The court of first instance of Meknes had recently sentenced several people including the president of the commune of Dkhissa, a khalifa of the caid and two councillors to one and a half years in prison and a fine of 50,000 dirhams for their involvement in a case of anarchic housing, while three technicians will have to serve one year in prison and pay a fine of 50,000 dirhams for their role in this case.

For the same reason, eleven real estate developers received a prison sentence of six months and a fine of 10,000 dirhams.

An investigation carried out on the phenomenon of anarchic housing, which reached alarming levels from 2006, established the involvement of 24 people, led by the president of the commune of Dkhissa.

The commission of inquiry, constituted for this purpose by the Wali of the Meknes-Tafilelt region, noted a number of irregularities, including the illegal concession of land, extortion and lack of building permits.
