The SOS Children's Village of Dar Bouâzza experienced a particular effervescence. Visitors carrying beautiful perspectives had made an appointment in this haven of peace. The occasion to renew a partnership agreement concerning the training and employment of young residents of SOS centres. Thus, the management of SOS Children's Villages Morocco proceeded with the renewal of its partnership with DHL, the world leader in the logistics industry. This agreement concerns the completion of the training of young people to allow them to sharpen their weapons and thus approach the job market serenely, equipped with the necessary tools for such an approach. The ultimate objective of this cooperation is none other than to ensure them a professional career that is part of sustainability and autonomy. The officialisation of the renewal of this partnership took place in the presence, notably, of Béatrice Beloubad, national director of SOS Children's Villages of Morocco, and Faysal El Hajjami, CEO of Maghreb DHL Express, as well as teams from both sides. “In order to align with the international partnership concluded through a global convention between the two partners, a national agreement was signed in 2013 between SOS Children's Villages Morocco and DHL Express Morocco. The partnership has put in place a significant number of activities, revolving around training and internships in companies. Designed to complete the training of young people, these activities are conducted jointly by SOS Villages and DHL. They are broken down into long and short-term internship programmes hosted by the various sites of the company,” indicate the partners. In this regard, during the year 2013, six students completed their internship within DHL and one of them was recruited at the end of this period. The renewal of the partnership agreement was not without bringing some novelties. Indeed, from now on, young people will also have the possibility of taking part in forums organised on the theme of employment. “Their participation is facilitated thanks to a sponsorship system that makes available to them academic instruments designed for good professional orientation,” it is indicated. In parallel, the partner company studies the CVs of young graduates in search of their first job and offers them a possibility of integration, in case they meet the eligibility conditions. Likewise, it grants particular importance to the hiring of young people from SOS Villages, as well as those from disadvantaged backgrounds who are taken care of by the association. Hand in hand for 12 years: The partnership between SOS Children's Villages Morocco and DHL was born twelve years ago. Throughout this period, several operations and actions have been carried out for the benefit of the children and young people of SOS Villages. In 2001, SOS Villages Morocco participated in a drawing contest carried out all over the world by the children of the association. The sponsorship activity was a good pretext to consolidate the collaboration between the two partners, since other groups of young girls were taken care of between 2005 and 2013. A period during which young people from SOS Villages Morocco also benefited from internships and the study of their CVs for hiring. In the framework of the “GoTeach” programme, young people from SOS Villages often take part in events and conferences organised jointly. It should be noted that “GoTeach” is a partnership concluded internationally between Deutsche Post DHL and SOS Children's Villages. This programme has the ambition of improving the employability of young people from SOS Children's Villages, professional orientation, tutoring, and the organisation of internships in companies, all combined with considerable financial support dedicated to the education programmes of SOS young people and children.
