The Azrou region hosted the ninth "Wings Camp", organised by the Korean volunteers of "World Friends Korea" from the Korea International Cooperation Agency, for three days.
As part of Moroccan-Korean cooperation, the Korea International Cooperation Agency in Morocco (KOICA) organised the ninth edition of the "Wings Camp" from 27 to 29 July at the Aariche school in the village of Ben Smime, in the Azrou region. This is an educational and cultural activity for pupils at a rural primary school. The event saw the participation of 18 Korean volunteers from "World Friends Korea", as well as four Moroccan volunteers.
The "Wings Camp" encourages children to open up more to other foreign cultures, particularly Korean culture, and offers Korean volunteers the opportunity to discover beautiful regions of Morocco and new aspects of the local culture and way of life. In this sense, since 2009, Korean volunteers have been planning and organising this event every year with the aim of sharing moments of happiness with children and their parents in rural regions of Morocco, through fun, cultural and creative activities, as well as raising awareness about the importance of education, health and cooperation. This event is a meeting point and a place for exchange between Korean volunteers and their Moroccan counterparts on several subjects, with a view to encouraging the development of a united community.
In this regard, KOICA is delighted with the participation of three students of the Korean language, two of whom belong to the Faculty of Economic, Legal and Social Sciences of Salé and one to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Aïn Chock in Casablanca. Furthermore, this programme reflects the constant commitment of the Korea International Cooperation Agency to human development in Morocco, as well as its strong desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Korean and Moroccan peoples, in order to consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries.
