More than 300 beneficiaries of a medical caravan

More than 300 people, essentially children and women, benefited from a medical caravan organised recently in Anefgou (Midelt province), at the initiative of the provincial health delegation.

Thus, the populations of this remote locality in the Eastern Middle Atlas benefited from various services, including consultations concerning different diseases, notably dental, medical analyses, in particular for diabetes screening, in addition to the distribution of medicines, according to a statement from the provincial health delegation.

This caravan is part of a programme put in place by the Midelt provincial health delegation for the anticipation and prevention of the effects of the cold during the winter period on the health of the inhabitants of areas suffering from the harsh climate at the provincial level.

This programme provides for the organisation of several medical campaigns during this period. The delegation's mobile teams will travel through the various caidats (Imilchil, Tounfite, Gourama, Boumia, Itzer) and thus reach the Douars and the most remote localities of the province.

A basket of fundamental medical services is made available to the targeted populations, notably women and children.

The delegation's staff will also conduct awareness campaigns for children and women on prevention against colds and the risks of poisoning due to carbon monoxide and butane gas during heating operations.

According to the delegation's estimates, approximately 20,000 people among the populations of these areas will benefit from these mobile medical campaigns.
