The Akhfennir wind farm can quietly begin the extension of its installed capacity to double it from 100 to 200 MW. This wind infrastructure has, in fact, just received a delivery of 56 GE 1.7-100 wind turbines from General Electric (GE). This park, located in the south of the country, is developed by Énergie éolienne du Maroc (EEM), leader in the development of wind projects and a subsidiary of Nareva Holding. The wind turbines delivered, following an agreement signed between the two parties yesterday, are "high-performance turbines that allow for a very competitive cost of electricity," indicates GE in a press release.
The energy generated by the Akhfennir park will be supplied to Nareva's industrial client companies via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
It should be noted that the agreement was signed by Nabil Habayeb, CEO of GE Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, and Mohamed Sebti, Director of the Energy Division of Nareva Holding, in the presence of the CEO of GE, Jeffrey Immelt, and Ahmed Nakkouch, CEO of Nareva Holding.
