The narcotics brigade under the judicial police of the Hay Hassani district has arrested a contraband cigarette trafficker during two major operations. During the first, following investigations, police discovered an abandoned car in which 430 packets of American-brand cigarettes were hidden. Searches were subsequently carried out to arrest the suspected trafficker. This was achieved, as the wanted man was apprehended on board another vehicle where 300 packets of cigarettes were discovered, in addition to a sum of money and a mobile phone. During another raid, officers from the same brigade put two sub-Saharan individuals, a man and a woman, behind bars. The former was in possession of six capsules of cocaine, while his companion was carrying 1,400 dirhams and three mobile phones.

Investigators who went to the traffickers' home confiscated the passports of the two detainees, some foreign currency notes, four branded watches, and other items, according to a police source from the district.
