Arrest of a woman for swindling

Following complaints filed by three victims against a woman for fraud and swindling, and after their hearing confirmed that they had given her sums ranging from 7,000 to 30,000 DH for the acquisition of plots of land in Oualidia, the judicial police of Hay Hassani proceeded to the arrest of the person in question, according to a police source. Thus, after investigation, the police went to her home where they seized 26 applications sent to the president of the Iyir commune in Safi, as well as a quantity of receipts and a stamp. As well as bank cheques made out and established in the name of her son. The investigations that continued made it possible to discover other victims who had given the good lady an amount of 92,000 DH. The police went to the scene where they contacted the person in charge of the order office to find out the names of the beneficiaries. It turned out that most were recorded in a special register for the filing of applications during the year 2007. But no trace of a housing project appears there and the office had decided to stop the registration of applications. The lady questioned confessed that an individual from the Oualidia region was her accomplice.

Consequently, the police made the trip to the Chouboukat region. In coordination with the Royal Gendarmerie, the police noted that the person concerned was not on the premises. The latter was nevertheless identified and a search notice was issued against him. As for the suspected woman, she acknowledged that the stamp belonged to a private school where she had worked. She acted thus in the hope of buying a house for her son in Had Soualem for an amount of 50 million centimes, according to the same source.
